Eleven babies are stillborn every day in the UK. It is 15 times more common than cot death.
Stillbirth is more common than many people think. There are more than 3,600 stillbirths every year in the UK, and one in every 200 births ends in a stillbirth.
Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, provides support for anyone affected by the death of a baby. The charity runs a helpline, provides information and support literature, and funds research into the causes of stillbirth.
The aim of this website is to raise money for the Sands charity group through the proceeds of the sale of items lovingly made by myself, the Mother of a stillborn baby called Jacob. I decided to start this website because I wanted to do something that would raise awareness for all of our angel babies that have been too beautiful to stay on this earth. Losing a child did not cross my mind, I was naive, 'things like that don't happen to me'. How wrong I was. But, I feel so privileged to have met my little boy, losing a baby at any stage of life, goes on to affect the rest of your life but it is important to always remember that they were here and always will be. I will continue to make memories for Jacob and I hope I can just do a little bit of good by raising some money that will help families in the future.
Sands Supports anyone affected by the death of a baby, works to improve bereavement care and promotes research to reduce the loss of babies lives
